Carmina Burana, Middle Ages, Ensemble Organum, Peres is a 3cd set with mainly religious vocal works from the huge original manuscript Carmina Burana from the Middel Ages. The text from Carmina Burana has been collected from the early 11th till the early 13th century. The separate parts have been bundled as a manuscript in about 1230-1250.
Good to know: the music is completely different from the Carmina Burana that Carl Orff wrote in 1935/1936, and for which Orff took only 24 songs from the more than 1000 available in the original manuscript. So he used some text, but the music composed by Orff is his own and no transcription from music of the Middle Ages.
